Espgaluda hi-scores dont save

Hi , I recently downloaded mameuihiscore ( Saving my hiscores is very important for me so I support the project) , then played espgaluda , but hi-score was not saved and no .hi file was created.

The game just recently got availible in mame so I thought is it not supported by hiscore.dat , or does it need a special setting ?

Thanks for your work,

clessx

Heyo :)

Thx for using my Project . The Game EspGaluda isnt using .hi files for saving the Highscore , it is using .nv files (NVRAM) for saving the Highscore . I really dont know why it doesnt save the Highscore... will look at it . But because the Game is new , it can be that the NVRAM isnt fully working for this driver !!!

Will test it out soon.... first i need to release the 64-Bit Version :)

Thank you. I notice espgaluda save nvram , but no high scores are kept . When I restart mame , they are forgotten.

Will be very glad if you can look at problem,

Good work on the project,

I searched around the Internet for some Info , but found not really much about it . Some People say on the Original Hardware (PCB Board) the Highscore will not save too .

Here are some Informations :

"
1)It saves high scores. Like in Mushihime-sama, you have a "today's hi scores" list and an "all time" hi scores list. You have to scroll through the "today's" list by hitting the A button to see the all-time hi scores. Rankings are kept separate for each character (which is a feature I quite like).

I like the "today's hi scores" feature as it allows you to see how well you've done in that particular session, even if the scores aren't good enough to make the all-time ranking board.

2)The in-game hi score "at the top" does not save. Mushihime-sama is exactly the same. The first Ikeda game to implement this was Mushi-Futari 1.5 (1.0 did NOT do this). Ibara and Pink Sweets are Yagawa programmed games. Totally different programmer, totally different conventions.

But i think the Problem is more of the not fully emulated mame driver , and so the NVRAM will not save the Highscore . I cant really test it by myself because my Score is too low :)

There are some more Games where the NVRAM will not save at all like "ZOMBIE RAID" . In this Game you need to Re-Calibrate the Guns every time you start the Game again :(

Hope i put some Light into the Dark :)

*UPDATE*

"
NVRAM doesn't automatically mean the game saves the high scores. In this case, they do not appear to be saved with the NVRAM data. If scores were allowed to be saved via backup battery, you would have an option to 'clear high score' in the service mode - which in my check of the games in question was not there. There is a "Default" option which set all the game settings to default, but they would not make a game which forced you to reset dip settings or other game settings just to clear high scores.

So, the lack of high score saving is by design. The game itself never did it (unless proven otherwise).

There is -autosave which you could have some success in saving the game state. Or, wait for whatever build which support hiscore.dat to update.

I asked in the Official Mame Help Forum about this , so the real Hardware (PCB) is the Problem . It is not saving the Highscore , because the Original Hardware dont save too .

I wrote a mail to the author of the "hiscore.dat" project . But no answer yet , so we need to wait a bit more :)
